This evening I have run tests of connecting to these machines in the following configurations (MacBook Air > Wifi > Windows Host 1) & (MacBook Air > Wifi > Windows Host 1 > Ethernet > Windows Host 2 ). I have a MacBook Air M1 Parsec Client, and two dedicated Windows 10 host machines, both running as Parsec Hosts. If you wish to speak on behalf of a company in any capacity, some type of flair making this clear is required.įigured I would post my experience here to assist anyone else who seeks to pursue this. Rulesĭon't spam, stay on-topic, and be excellent to each other. We're open to discussion of any and all news, updates, and services related to cloud gaming, not just those listed above. The most popular vendors for cloud PCs are: This is more complex than using a prepackaged service, but you get more control of what hardware you rent and what software you use. It's also possible to "roll your own" cloud gaming by using a generic cloud PC provider and a streaming solution of your choice. The following programs can get you started: You can use your own gaming PC to stream a game to less powerful devices like your phone. If you want to check on which cloud gaming services a game is available, you can use a cloud gaming aggregator like cloudbase.gg. Developments are happening rapidly, so don't be afraid to ask. You are encouraged to do your own research and learn about all your options. Software and services being in the above list is not an endorsement or assurance of quality. Here are some of the current most popular to get you started: Software and Services This is a rapidly-developing area and new services and software are coming along all the time. Chrome has also implemented a ton of features to make low latency video streaming possible for things like Google Hangouts and Google Stadia.CloudyGamer is for discussing and exploring cloud gaming in all its forms, both self-hosted and all-in-one services. We haven't taken the time to implement Firefox because it works very differently from Chrome for handling video. The web client is only available on Chrome, as 82% of our homepage's visits are from Chrome browsers, and the next closest one is Firefox with just about 5%. The best Parsec experience will still be on the downloaded version of Parsec. We built our own networking protocol for game streaming on the native client because off-the-shelf technology, like WebRTC, doesn't cut it for the most demanding gaming experiences. We're also using WebRTC and have a lot less control over the networking causing issues with low bandwidth connections and increased lag. The web client does not have access to low-level hardware optimizations or hardware decoding, it's just not possible today because browsers do not give direct access to it. We also provide portable versions for Windows in case you do not have administrator privileges. If you're having issues, like experiencing lag or getting errors like 6200 or 3200X, we highly recommend that you download Parsec for your computer. The performance and stability on the web client is not as good as the downloadable version of Parsec. Joining macOS computers is not possible with the web app at this time. Logging in is optional when opening invite links on the web app, however, you can still log in through Parsec's homepage to connect to computers available for your account. Your computer will use the web client for invite links whenever the Parsec application isn't running or can't be detected by the site. The Parsec Web Client is a convenient way to access your computer with a Google Chrome or Chromium browser, without having to download the Parsec application.
